OUR WHY

“Strong work starts with strong people and strong people ask for support.”
ABOUT US

The Saint Louis Building Trades Wellness Coalition was created for a simple but urgent reason: the people who build our region deserve support that is just as strong as the work they do.

The building trades are powered by skill, pride, and resilience—but they’re also shaped by long hours, physical demands, and high-pressure environments. In construction, the culture often tells people to “push through” rather than ask for help. Over time, that mindset can become dangerous. When stress builds, when injuries happen, or when personal challenges collide with jobsite demands, too many workers feel like they have to handle it alone.

This coalition exists to change that.

We are a group of tradespeople, signatory partners, and community stakeholders united in a common goal: to break the stigma surrounding mental health, substance misuse, and suicide crisis. Our mission is to remove the barriers that prevent workers and family members from seeking support—by increasing awareness, making resources easier to access, and strengthening peer support throughout the trades.
