About the event

On Monday, July 13, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Fred Wellman will moderate a Worker Wellness Roundtable at Teamsters Local 600, 161 Weldon Parkway in Maryland Heights. This will be a thoughtful, solutions-focused conversation about mental health, physical wellness, suicide prevention, peer support, and the real work unions and labor organizations are doing to make sure members do not have to face difficult moments alone.

The people who build, move, teach, care for, and sustain our communities carry a great deal, often without being given the support or space to talk honestly about it.


We are bringing together an exceptional panel: Tim Rowden of The Labor Tribune and Board member of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; Dr. John Gaal of the Missouri AFL-CIO’s Worker Wellness Program; suicide-prevention trainer Whitney Shumway; WashU Healthy Work Center researcher Sami Tayeb; and Brian Jennewein of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Administrative District Council of Eastern Missouri.
