This week’s edition of our Worker Wellness blog takes another look at how and why today’s cannabis is dangerous for teens—to the concept of Somatic Movement as a form of exercise—to Pope Leo confronting Trump’s recent actions that gravely threaten the rule of law.
Focal Point: This week I wish to invite our readers to join the STL Building Trades Wellness Coalition this Thursday (3/26) at 7:30a as SLU-CEET hosts a training session on Workplace & Domestic Violence.[1] By now, many of you heard about the female welder, Amanda Czech, who was brutally killed by a co-worker, on a MN job site, in Nov 2025. Around this same time, in STL, one of our own, Hailey Jennings, a female apprentice painter, was murdered away from the job site.
As my friend and colleague, James Pursell, LEAN-STL Peer Specialist, often says:
“When we know better, we MUST do better!”
In an industry that is ~90% male-dominated—my hope is that more hearts and minds are opened to becoming active and effective bystanders on and off the job.
Please see the registration info linked below and join us for what is planned to be an engaging event with actionable outcomes.
A special thanks to Aetna for serving as our March 2026 sponsor!
